Who We Are

The Congregation of the Sisters of St Francis of Sarawak, founded by Mgr. Edmund Dunne MHM, Prefect Apostolic of Sarawak in 1928, is a Religious Congregation of diocesan right. It follows the rule of the Third Order Regular of St Francis of Assisi as approved by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, and these constitutions.

We consecrate our whole lives through the observance of the evangelical counsels. In line with the founding vision of the congregation, we carry out our service to all in its various apostolates, particularly to the youth, the poor and the needy.

Third Order Regular

As sisters of the Third Order Regular of St Francis of Assisi, we strive to follow Francis in the footsteps of Christ in the call to conversion. We commit ourselves to love and follow Christ, to live and proclaim the Good News of God's kingdom and live a life of minority.
